I also added the little drop shadows near the board and plants for instance. In the final stage I grabbed a fineliner brush to add some little light touches, like the text on the chalk board and some light flowers. Using smaller brushes I started adding details, not worrying too much about wobbly lines and little stains, these give the painting character. I kept the colors light so I could slowly build them up. I started coloring the different elements on a layer underneath the sketch layer, making a light glazing. I made multiple layers and lowered their opacity. Something fun and cool that would look good on a notebook. First I used my watercolor sketch brush to make a rough sketch of the little store, on a layer beneath it, I started adding watercolor paint, these are big textured strokes.
